About the Mosaic Center

The Mosaic Center for Work, Life + Learning is a community-based unit within Indiana University Health, headquartered in Indianapolis and now serving individuals throughout Marion County. Established in 2021 with the support of the Lilly Endowment, the Mosaic Center works to address two main goals:

To attract talent to the healthcare industry and help our members find a good fit among the countless clinical and non-clinical career pathways.
To improve access to good and promising jobs — meaning those that pay well and offer a future for growth — for youth and adults in Indianapolis and across the state.

The mission of the Mosaic Center for Work, Life + Learning is to cultivate a diverse pipeline of youth and adults across Indiana with the skills, resources, and confidence to achieve meaningful careers in healthcare.

Our Future Home

The Mosaic Center is part of a larger plan for a growing health district in Indianapolis, which will create new spaces, activity centers, and other amenities offering year-round programming designed to address social determinants of health and quality of life for our neighbors and other downtown residents. Once construction is complete, the Mosaic Center will be located within a mixed-use building called Wesley Place, in the city’s Near Northside neighborhood.

Coaching services are now available! Meetings and consultations are being held virtually or in common spaces prior to the opening of our physical facility. Contact us to learn more.

Building Upon a Proven Model

The Mosaic Center is a Financial Opportunity Center® (FOC) created in partnership with Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) as an adaptation of their Bridges to Career Opportunities program. Centers using this model aim to match employers in need of workers with a specific skill set to job seekers who've been trained in those skills.

To achieve this goal, FOC sites “partner with community members from underinvested neighborhoods to build family-sustaining careers and achieve financial success” by providing integrated services including employment and career counseling, one-on-one financial coaching and education, and connections to public benefits and community resources. Our employer-backed adaptation of this model is uniquely focused on the healthcare industry.
