This opportunity can help you take that next step.
The Mosaic Center is working to identify up to 13 qualified Marion County candidates for a special pathway into IU Health’s Medical Assistant Education Program.
Selected trainees begin earning on October 5.
This Opportunity May Be a Good Fit for You If:
- You have some experience working in healthcare but do not have a healthcare degree or certification
- You want to move into a patient-care role with more opportunity to grow
- You live in Marion County
- You are at least 18 and have a high school diploma or GED
- You can participate in a full-time, 10-week program
- You can attend required in-person training and clinical experiences
- You are ready to learn, build new skills and take the next step in your career
Candidates who completed medical assistant coursework but still need clinical hours may also be considered.

Grant support may be based on individual need and available funding. A Mosaic Center coach will help you understand what assistance may be available.

The accelerated program lasts 10 weeks and requires a full-time commitment of approximately 40 hours each week. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, around 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

No. The program includes online learning, virtual classes, in-person classes, hands-on skills training and clinical experiences. You must be able to attend required in-person activities.

Yes. Clinical experiences take place at an assigned healthcare location. Your clinical site may be up to 40 minutes from your home.

You may still be considered. Register for the information session and answer the registration questions so the team can better understand your experience.

Yes. IU Health covers the program tuition and pays selected trainees for their training hours.
Participants may still need scrubs, a stethoscope and an online textbook. The Mosaic Center may be able to provide grant assistance to participants who cannot afford these required items upfront on a case-by-case basis. Please discuss this with your coach.

Accepted participants enter the program as full-time medical assistant trainees. Program completion requires satisfactory performance, completion of all required hours and passing the certification exam. IU Health will explain the employment requirements and work agreement during the selection process.
